Landscapes and Points of Interest
The Albera Natural Park of National Interest is located in the northeast of Empordà, encompassing parts of La Jonquera, Espolla, and Rabós municipalities. It stretches approximately 25 km in length, with its prominent peaks including Puig Neulós (1257 m), Puig dels Pastors (1167 m), Puig dels Quatre Termes (1156 m), and Pic de Sallafort (992 m). This park boasts significant biological diversity and has historically been a strategic border area between the plains of Empordà and Roussillon, where major civilizations have left their mark.
This natural area is constituted by two distinct zones: the western sector, known as Requesens-Baussitges, features Central European-style vegetation with beech and humid oak forests; and the eastern sector, Sant Quirze de Colera, is more Mediterranean, characterized by cork oak forests and scrubland, home to the last populations of Mediterranean tortoises.

History and Culture
Bunkers of Masarac: These are military constructions carried out by the Francoist organization called "Servicio Militar de Construcción." These fortifications belong to the extensive and wide network of bunkers and machine-gun nests, built between 1940-45, which stretches all along the lands near the border and the northern coast of Empordà.
DO Empordà: This is a historic wine appellation that produces wines touched by the Tramuntana wind, which gives them personality by concentrating the sugars and aromas of the grapes. Garnatxa (Grenache) and Carinyena (Carignan) are the jewels of the DO, with great varietal richness, as it produces all varieties of Garnatxa and Carinyena – black, white, and red. The range of wines includes reds, whites, rosés, sweet, and sparkling wines.
Megalithic: This was a universal culture that developed independently in many places and signified a representation of faith in life after death. Hunter-gatherers who lived in our region 7,000 years ago manipulated enormous slabs to mark tombs or emblematic places of worship. Dolmens are stone column structures that support a large slab like a table and represent the height of megalithic culture. Menhirs are large elongated stones placed upright in the landscape. These stones appear isolated, or grouped in circles or rows, and were social and meeting centers, just as Dolmens were placed in strategic locations in the landscape.
